Artist Inspiration

Hey Sexy is a project about practicing self-love. In a world that makes it easy to obsess over flaws, compare bodies, and pick ourselves apart, a mirror can become either a best friend or a worst enemy. This piece was created to soften that experience and make it feel more playful, more colorful, and more compassionate.

I wanted to take something traditionally simple and functional and give it a burst of joy, confidence, and humor. The rainbow waves are intentionally bold but not overwhelming, breaking through the frame like a little reminder that beauty does not have to be stiff, serious, or perfectly controlled. Sometimes beauty is a wink. Sometimes it’s a pep talk. Sometimes it’s looking at yourself and saying, “Hey sexy,” even on the days you don’t fully believe it yet.

Your surroundings can change the way you see yourself. My hope is that this mirror helps create a small moment of confidence in your daily routine, whether it lives in your bedroom, entryway, studio, dressing area, or anywhere you need a little extra hype.

Medium: heavy-body acrylic paint

Surface: 30” x 36” wood-framed mirror

Finish: all paints mixed with protective semi-gloss medium

Edges: the black and rainbow design flows over and onto the edges of the frame for a clean, finished look

Signature: signed and dated on the back

Hanging Hardware: two hooks are drilled into the back and can be used to hang directly onto nails

Please Note: minor natural variations in the wood frame and mirror surface may be present. This mirror was upcycled in fair condition after an unknown amount of use.
