About the Artwork

Every Way is a contemporary abstract painting that blends minimalist design with a maximalist rainbow palette. Set against a sleek black background, a bold rainbow path bends and curves its way across the canvas, creating a playful sense of movement and direction. Simple in structure but joyful in personality, this piece delivers high-contrast color in a clean, modern format.

The design feels both retro and fresh: part rainbow road, part visual mantra. Its curving bands bring a funky softness to the square canvas, while the black negative space gives the colors room to shine. The result is an artwork that feels warm, bright, and full of affirmation.

Artist Inspiration

Every Way was the focal point of my 2021 Pride collection, a series exploring rainbow color palettes on black backgrounds. I’ve always loved the way rainbow colors pop against darkness; there’s something so bold and unapologetic about that contrast.

The title, Every Way, is meant to feel warm and inclusive. When I first created this piece, I wrote: “Whichever way you’ve come from, whichever way you’re headed, we love your love every way.” That sentiment still sits at the heart of the painting. It’s a reminder that love does not have to look one specific way to be real, beautiful, or worthy of celebration.

To me, this piece is about movement, identity, and belonging. The rainbow doesn’t travel in a perfectly straight line; it bends, curves, and changes direction. But every turn is still part of the path. Every way is welcome. Every way is loved.

Edges: the black and rainbow design spills over and onto the edges for a clean, frame-optional finish

Signature: signed and dated on the back

Please Note: hanging hardware is NOT included. This allows you to choose your preferred display method, such as a floating frame, mounting wire, or leaning it proudly on a ledge. For pieces up to 16” x 20”, I personally recommend using two sturdy tacks, placed evenly along the top corners. For anything 20” x 20” or larger, nails are ideal to ensure secure support.
